This trip begins at Rollans Park (just steps from the shop) and finishes at Ridgway Reservoir in Ridgway State Park.

Guided Kayaking Details

Enjoy a 4-mile guided kayaking trip on the Class II Uncompahgre River, paddling through the heart of Ridgway. This family-friendly trip offers a fun way to explore the river at your own pace.

Guests paddle inflatable kayaks “duckies”, available in both single and double size depending on preference and group needs. This stretch of river offers a fun mix of gentle current, small splashy rapids, and beautiful views of the San Juan Mountains - making it a favorite activity for locals and visitors alike.

The trip begins at Rollans Park (just steps from the shop) and finishes at Ridgway Reservoir in Ridgway State Park, making for a fun and convenient river adventure. 

Minimum age: 6 years old / 50 lbs
(Children under age 12 must accompany an adult in a double kayak.)

Unguided Tube Rentals

Tubing the Uncompahgre River is one of the best and easiest ways to enjoy summer in Ridgway. Grab a tube, hop in the river at Rollans Park (just steps away from the shop), and enjoy a relaxing and refreshing float on a warm Colorado summer day. 

This stretch of river offers a fun mix of gentle current, small splashy rapids, and beautiful views of the San Juan Mountains - making it a favorite activity for locals and visitors alike.

There are multiple float options depending on how long you want to be on the water:

Short Float (about 30 minutes)
Take out at Dennis Weaver Memorial Park for a quick, family-friendly tubing experience. This section is typically the least rocky and great for a relaxed float. 

Mid-Length Float (45 minutes - 1 hour)
Continue a bit farther downstream to the CR 24 bridge take-out for more time on the water.

Full Float (1.5 - 2 hours)
Continue floating all the way to Ridgway Reservoir for the full Uncompahgre tubing adventure. This stretch is dependent on river flows and may be rockier past the bridge, or require short walks in places when water levels are low. As the river enters the reservoir, the current slows and you may need to paddle a bit to reach the take-out.

Unguided Standup Paddleboard Rentals

Rent your own stand-up paddleboard (SUP). Paddleboarding the Uncompahgre is a great way to enjoy the sunshine while floating through the heart of Ridgway with beautiful views of the San Juan Mountains.

Launch just steps away from the shop at Rollans Park and paddle the scenic 4-mile stretch of the Uncompahgre River to Ridgway Reservoir. This section offers a fun mix of gentle current and small splashy rapids making it a great adventure for beginner or intermediate paddlers looking to experience the river from a different perspective.
